Sigh

Update...We're sorry to report that Marty ran out of time today. :( RIP buddy

Mom was looking at the shelter lists tonight and look who is on the urgent list at Irving...this guy is Marty, he's 4 years old and he's out of time. He's a lot smaller than me, only 60 pounds and he looks so sad. Remember me when I first showed up?

If anyone is interested in helping this handsome guy he's at the Irving Animal Shelter, his # is 8894 and their phone number is 972.721.2256. Keeping my paws crossed for this guy.

My mom wants a baby bear or just a Big Bear for that matter. If she could she would take Marty. but we are kind of over the limit on pets already.

Oh, we hope someone rescues him before it's too late. There are too many being killed for lack of homes.

Oh, that is too too sad.

It should be the people who run out of time.

Too much heartbreak recently.

Rest well Marty and know that someone - MaryAnne - truly cared:

So much sadness. So many wonderful cats and dogs lost needlessly.

OMD, the shelter send the hopefuls to the bridge? or did his soul decide to go on it's own?

George,
I came over to your blog to answer but will post here too.

Hi George
About your comment on our blog about poor Marty…the shelters here do send hopefuls and adoptables to the Bridge. Each state has a certain number of days that the animals “have” to be held (usually three and they are adoptable that fourth day) and then after that 4th day they can be euthanized at the shelter’s discretion.

It’s horrible, horrible, horrible the number of adoptable animals who don’t have a chance here.

The hopefuls in the UK are very lucky - most shelters have a policy to rehome and not re direct to the bridge. Me & Mummy feel terribly sad that healthy hopefuls run out of time. I also feel real lucky that I got transfered within the shelter to different locations until Daddy came along and spied me. Thanks for answering my question and enlightening me and Mum, despite it being darkening.
