A Scary Friday Night

Hiya, it's Sam. I was just wanting to report in about last night, it was super scary around here. We were watching the news and they kept talking about these giant storms that were coming. All of a sudden these huge tornado sirens were going off right outside, it was SO loud. Mom totally freaked and threw some of Thrawn's mats into the laundry room and forced us all in there. Something about it being the "safe room", I dunno. Bear was in there in his crate with stuff piled over it just in case and and she was trying to shove us under the big heavy desk in there. It was NOT pretty, let me tell you. Mom's a giant storm weenie and we're not exactly the bravest either. She gave us our happy-pills but they didn't kick in before the storms got here so we were freaking.

It sounded like someone was banging our house with a million baseball bats, over and over. We were so scared and Dot had really bad nervous stomach, you know what that means and we were all locked in there together!

When it was finally quiet again Mom went outside to check things out...there was ice everywhere! We don't know how that happened since it had been warm out.

Our fence has definitely gotta go, it's leaning lots. I guess we'll have to go to the bathroom on leashes while they put a new one in. That's no fun, how will we squirrel and bird hunt if we're tethered to the humans?? Tucker is worried because Mom is saying we have to have a new roof which means they'll be banging up there for days. Our skylights were busted out too.

Today we went out back to inspect the rest of the yard, I think half the trees are on the ground now. I hope they don't expect us to use the bathroom in these questionable conditions. Our gazebo we rest under when it's hot out has big holes in it too, I hope that's fixed before Summer gets here or we'll roast out there. Here I am inspecting everything. They really need to get this place cleaned up cause I'm a low rider and stuff pokes my tummy.

Mom's go-cart aka car looks like I jumped up and down on it all over so I guess that's going to the shop too. Maybe we'll get a real dogs car for a loaner and can all ride somewhere with the windows down.

Hoping for sunnier days - Samantha

Oh my goodness!!! Those ice balls are huge!!! I am so glad that everyone is safe! The sam system is about to be smack over us here in central Georgia. I hope that we don't get any tornadoes!!!

Bear - don't worry. I tend to put my back leg in my mouth too. I don't know why I do it. Mom laughs at me!!

I'm glad everyone is ok. My mom was freaked too, thinking the storms would hit us. But, they went just South of us, so we were lucky.

Not that I was scared or anything, I'm just saying.

I'm so sorry you had a scary night and had so much damage, but very glad everyone is okay. And my oh my is Bear well endowed! LOL We dodge the bullet here today with the worst of the system going northwest of us. We just got a lot of rain - some parts around the area got hail.

Thank Dogness you guys are OK! We heard about that ice stuff. Nothing here like that, just lots of rain that has the bird snacks floating away.

Whoa--that's some lousy weather and someone should tell the sky to stop dropping golf balls on your house. Not cool. At least all the important things (peoples + pets) are ok. You guys are very brave (especially Samantha).

Oh no! You poor puppies! I don't know if I could have been as brave as you were. Luckily it wasn't that bad at our house!
