Max the Husky

Our Aunt Janice was driving to school this morning when she saw a stray husky on the side of the road.  She pulled over and he happily crawled in the car with her.  He was microchipped so the vet contacted the person who was listed.

Come to find out she had given him to a relative about 4 months ago because he "chewed, dug and was a runner".  A little more investigation and we found out that he had been passed through several families these last four months until he ended up with this last one who left him outside.  They told Aunt Janice that they didn't want him anymore and to find him a good home.

Sooooo....here we are.  Here's the 4-1-1 on him.  He's here in the DFW area but we'll always make a road trip for an exceptional home.  According to the original adopter....

-Adopted from the SPCA at 1.5 years old, he's almost 3 years old now.  He was originally an owner surrender to the SPCA.  He's apparently been bumped around a lot and we need to find his forever home now.  No more bouncing from house to house.

-Name was Max, no idea what he's been called the last 4 months :(

-House trained

-Neutered

-Good with kids

-Good with other dogs

-Enjoys being brushed

-Was "almost" leash trained when she had him, now she doesn't know how he is on a leash

-Will bolt when given the opportunity, typical Husky

-Digs and hides toys, has a chewing problem (guessing from boredom)

-He has a hurt leg, he is at the vet and will have tests ran in the morning.  Will update with news...

Not great pics, but we'll get glamour shots once he's sprung from the vet's office tomorrow.

As you might of guessed he really reminds us of Thrawn.  We're hoping that we can help find his forever family so please pass this on to anyone you know who might fit the bill.

Thanks...

He couldn't be in better hands, 5 years ago I had already met Trooper and was just waiting to home from NY to have him join our family. He'll enjoy a good steak next Tuesday!

So basically they abandoned him for being a husky. People are idiots, sometimes. I know a husky who would hide kibble in the VCR, destroyed everything in sight and managed to find a way to escape from the tightest hole. Her owners still managed to rehabilitate her, mostly. I hate people sometimes. I really do. I hope he finds his home soon.

Poor Max! I'm so glad you found him before anything else could happen. Maybe Sibe rescue could help? He's really beautiful and I bet he could be a great dog with the right family.

Grrrrrrr. It's stories like this that just really make me hate people. Why did that last family even bother to say "find him a good family" when they were all too happy to just let him loose. Grrrrrrrr. He is a handsome guy. I hope he finds the best home ever.

P.S. Any chance you could squeeze one more in?

We hope you can find him a great furever home! What a pretty boy! We can't imagine how people can treat dogs this way, but we know it does happen. They should be bitten...or tazered!

Aire-hugs,

I can't take him (I'm a little more than a short road trip away and I currently share my 2 bedroom apartment with 8 cats all of whom have been rescued from a local high volume shelter) but the excuses given for giving him up are ridiculous. He's a husky, a high energy, smart a$$ (sorry if my language offends), stubborn dog. It's part of his breed. People who don't educate themselves drive me nuts! Best of luck finding this deserving boy a new home. I'll keep my fingers crossed for him.

Love that mischevious glint in his eye! He looks like a keeper, and what a great lady your Aunt Janice is for helping him.
Wish we could take him, but we are in a tiny one-bedroom apartment. Mr. Jason says one puppy/room. Boo.
