Dog Rescue & Transport Day!

Today was pretty special...mostly because nodog was transported HERE! Ha ha, just kidding. Mostly. Seriously though, thank your pawrents for your offers of help with crates too.

This morning the people left us for HOURS on end and we thought they were NEVER coming back but then they DID and they were all smelly with good but weird smells. We should have known that something big was happening since the Forget Sit & Stay Gang's Mom called with a PLAN.

Good things happen when bunches of people work together for the dogs...one of our local shelters here, Arlington, has been bursting at the seams with animals. Not good at all. A rescue organization, Brazoria County Humane Society, WAAAAY down at the bottom of Texas had some room so they stepped up to help out. Isn't that cool? Two vans were rented, crates were collected and this morning TWENTY ONE pups left Arlington on their way to a second (or maybe third or fourth) chance for a new life.

We looked through the camera and thought we'd share some pictures from today. We would have gone to help if we could have.

(That's not Millie, don't worry)

OK, this little one made Mom want to cry. He was probably hit by a car and couldn't use his back end, plus he was in quite a bit of pain. He had been neutered & microchipped but nobody came to get him. :( It totally rocks that Brazoria is taking him in and hopefully he'll be better reeeeally soon. This pup has the right idea...CARRY ME!
There are a bunch more pictures on Mom's Facebook, but we're not allowed to login there. I don't know why, it doesn't seem fair.

Here is a picture of the very pretty new Arlington shelter. Even though it was Saturday morning there weren't very many people in there adopting and that makes us sad. Isn't it nice? We know it really bothers some people to go to a shelter, but this place isn't bad at all. We think more people should go and check out the homeless animals. Even though it's pawtacular that twenty one dogs were rescued today, there were some very sweet faces that made our pawrents veeeery sad to leave behind.

Feeling thankful to have our family....The Brats
PS Cuzn Ben is coming to stay with us tomorrow for a couple days!! PAAAARRTY!!!!

Nice work! We volunteer for a rescue and adoptions have been really slow lately for us too! Very sad! I think it is a summertime going on vacation thing which is why our foster homes have dwindled a bit. Very sad since some pups just suffer because of bad timing. So happy to hear of all the peoples helping out though!

That is so great that your parents did such a nice thing to help homeless doggies! My Mommy wanted to cry about that little chihuahua too. Around here we're very sensitive about paralyzed chihuahuas!
