She's taking over our blog again...

It's Dot-Spot...we're letting Mom post on our blog today mostly cuz it's for a good cause, plus we've been playing all day and are too tired to blog. We'll be back tomorrow though with new pics for sure. xoxo (especially to my big manly squeeze Sherm)

Hi Everyone!

As most of you know by my incessent chattering & posting I'm a big supporter of Best Friends Animal Society. (http://www.bestfriends.org) I became an Ambassador and just recently a Texas Team Leader for other Ambassadors here. I know a lot of our friends are BF members/supporters as well so I wanted to pass on info about this new program.

If you're interested in getting involved and you live in Texas drop me a mail, I'll get you all the info you need to start. If you're interested and live outside of Texas and even outside the US let me know and I can send you the contact info for who to talk to. It's really a great program and you can help the animals/shelters/rescues in your area by participating.

Thanks!!!
Maryann

Here's the scoop from the "official" flyer...

What is a Best Friends ambassador?

Best Friends ambassadors are a grassroots team of Network
members trained to support the outreach efforts of the Best Friends Network and work toward the goal of No More Homeless Pets through community outreach, education and fundraising. Ambassadors sow the seeds of kindness to all living things and spread the message that together we can create a better world through kindness to animals.

How do they do this?

Most often by representing Best Friends at community events. Ambassadors host a booth stocked with educational literature about Best Friends Animal Society, the sanctuary, the Network, and important topics such as spay/neuter, homeless cats, dog safety, puppy mill awareness, the pet adoption option, and how kids can make a difference in the Kindness Revolution.

Sometimes they sell t-shirts, hats, and a variety of other logo items. They collect donations and sign up interested folks who would like to receive more information about Best Friends.

They also make presentations, participate in rallies, organize fundraisers, or develop social networks that make a positive impact and inspire others to get involved and take action to help the animals in their own communities.

Being an ambassador is a fun way for our volunteers to share their passion for animals and the work that Best Friends does.

To get an idea of what the ambassadors have been doing, please browse the Ambassador Community on the Best Friends Network at network.bestfriends.org/ambassadors.

Hi Maryann, i've been following The Brat Pack blog since I posted on the DISboards a couple of years ago. I live over in north Ft. Worth and would love to help out any way I could. Since I don't (yet) have a blog for my dogs you can email me at PiratePrincessSavvy@gmail.com.

I think I should become a BF Ambassador...then I could come to TX for all kinds of important meetings and Ambassador stuff. Wonder if I could stay with you DS?

I'm gonna see if we have a Pgh Ambassador already.

Oooh guys! I think this is worth sharing your blog for. (Especially since she is helping dogs without bringing them home, eh!) How wonderful! Alas we do not live in Texas. Well, I think Texas might be too hot for my delicate constitution but it would still be worth it to get to help and, of course, to visit my lady!

Hi everybody,

Sorry we haven't been around much but ever since Jody went to the bridge the Mommy hasn't really been herself.

We went over to Mr Bones blog and we are so happy for him. The Mommy is still working with DROH and SMART even though we can't foster anymore.

Hey Maryann, I heard the Zoo Crew is having some bad times right now and their blog has been set to private. I know you're friends with them so could you give them the message that we're sending them lots and lots and lots of hugs.
Thanks

You do an awesome job finding homes and offering foster care. I admire you!
