Our Foster Brother

Well, here he is. Cousin It. We don't get to be near him because he has "issues" Mom says. She said we should be understanding because he hasn't had a very good life so far.

He was living in this pen outside for the last couple years....this is the picture we saw before he came home. We thought he looked pretty bad, but...

...he looked worse when he got here. There are more pictures here if anyone is interested:

He has lots of worms, including tape and hookworms. Yuck. He was covered up in fleas and as you can see has a bad flea allergy so he's lost a lot of hair. His skin is all open and oozy and gross. (he smells reeeeally bad) Dr. Bill said he has the big one too - heartworms. :( We're hoping there is a rescue out there that will help us find him a home. He has some issues but with some love and care he will be a wonderful new family member for someone. He came with the name Tatonka but we've been calling him Walter.

Samantha

PS He's pretty big, I can't reach his butt to sniff and he weighed 84 pounds at the vet. He's still a little underweight, his bones poke out everywhere!

How anyone could do that to a dog is beyond me. They deserve jail time, lots of it for having let him get into that kind of a state. I'm so happy that your mommy is helping him find a new and better life.

Woos,

We're behind on blog reading, so we haven't commented about Cousin It yet. You are a great pack to let him live with you until he find the perfect home. If anyone can give him lots of love and get him into shape, it's your mom!

Hey, He looks like my Old English Sheepdog buddies Ziggy and Leon, but he looks super skinny, despite the fur. The poor guy. Your mom is going to make him feel so much better. I just know it. Those OES are different kind of fellas. A little more independent minded, but super nice dudes, once you get to know them. I sure hope he finds an excellent home.

p.s. Are you guys having okay weather down there? I seems to remember hearing something on the news about bad weather in Texas and other southerny, westerny bits.

Oh my, he's in terrible shape! How irresponsible can his owners be...I'm sure he'll be in good condition in no time especially with medications, good food & a little bit of TLC!

Poor Walter looks in a bad way. Even I didn't look that bad and I was on the street. I suppose that is what happens when you can't choose your humans yourself.

Look after him Samantha. Looks like he's been a bit short of love.

You are so good to take care of Walter. We think he looks like part terrier/part sheepdog, so he is definitely worth saving.

Awww.....poor Walter. We're sure he doesn't feel very good and is probably very embarrased about how he looks. We're sending some special Sibe Vibes out to him so that he feels better fast. Two paws up to your Mom for seeing the gem beyond all that matted fur.
