A Delayed Anniversary - Edited at Bottom

It's Tucker-Doodle and I'm here to announce that my 1 year anniversary with my favorite pal will have to wait a few more days. I've learned that he has finally moved from the waiting room in Nana's office and into pre-op. In case you're wondering, I think Nana has those little roses to cheer him up. The Chinese take-out menu is so the surgeon doesn't pass out from the effort and the Pepcid is for the obvious. I don't want her burping and stitching something up wrong. We're just hanging out tonight....Bear is helping Mom surf the internet again. It doesn't look comfortable but he can sleep like that for hours. Weirdo...he thinks he's a Chee-wa-wa.

Edited to Add from Maryann:
***UPDATE - WOOOHOOOOO!!! She was adopted!!!!***

This little girl is named Lady and she is at a local city shelter here. She is 11 years old and was dumped at the shelter after her person died. Nobody else in the family was willing to take her in. I've contacted Beagle rescues in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and even Mississippi but nobody has room. Tomorrow is her last day at the shelter and if she is not rescued by 6 pm she will be PTS on Wednesday. I know there are unfortunately thousands of dogs in this same position tonight but something about this little girl is stuck in my head. If there is anyone out there who is interested in her personally or might know of a rescue that could help her please let me know. I can pull her at lunch tomorrow if need be and will hold on to her until arrangements can be made. PLEASE, if you're considering a new family member and don't mind a little old Lady puttering around really think about adopting her. She needs somewhere to live the rest of her life out. She is spayed and I will upate her vaccinations if her records aren't with her, as you can see her poor nails need attention as well. Email me at fivehappyhounds @ gmail dot com or my MSN IM is thebratpack @ live dot com. Thanks - Maryann

Don't feel bad Bear, Samuel is 75 pounds and thinks he's a lap dog too!

Oh Mistress thinks Bear looks so beautiful in the at photo. Master sometimes tries to share my sofa, it's ok so long as he doesn't get too near. I don't think I would have enough space to share a chair with a person.

Mistress and I are crossing our paws that Lady finds a home. Poor girl.

Oh my, she looks sooo sad in the picture. And look at her nails! She has been sooo neglected. I feel sooo sad for her. I hope a kind soul will adopt her becoz I think she might be a good therapy dog & a companion.

Nice work Bear helping your Mom surf like that. I help my Mom do that all the time.

I sure hope that Lady can find a special home soon. It makes me and Mom very sad.

Lots of Licks, Ruby

Oh, Bear, I'm a lapdog too, and thankfully my mama is agreeable to that fact!

That poor little old lady beagle makes us so sad. She reminds us of sad Fiona. I hope you are all able to help her out. I'm sure her person is turning in her grave, worried about her!

Peace + Paws,

Kai

Oh I'm so glad she had a happy ending! It is always extra sad when older dogs wind up in shelters. Everydoggy deserves a good retirement!

We are so glad Lady found a home! Mom was writing down your moms email.....
She thinks all old timers should have a nice retirement!

Hey, we are big lap dogs too. Sometimes mom has to move to the other chair, because we take up too much room(accfording to her...)

High five paws,

We're glad that little Lady got adopted, too! What a story those eyes could tell and those nails! There's nothing wrong with Bear being a lapdog. He must be comfortable that way. Good luck, Duck, on your surgery!

We are glad Lady was adopted. Mom says she will come back and haunt everyone in our family if no one takes in the dog(s) she has when she dies. Mom is pretty scary sometimes now - we hate to even think what it could be like then.

Hope your duck gets out of surgery soon.

Mom is so in love with Bear it's just ridiculous. She just thinks he's the cutest. I think he's pretty cute too, actually.

We are so happy Lady is adopted. Mom really worries about something awful like that happening to me, because she's single and no one else in the family is really a dog person. She really hopes one of her friends would take me if something bad ever happened.
