Please send good vibes.

It's hard to believe that I'm asking again but please pray or send good vibes or anything you might do our way. I hadn't posted yet about this but I adopted a dog on Sunday. A 9 week old puppy to be exact from the SPCA. He was sick when I got home from work today and I just got home from the ER Vet where they determined he has Parvo. He is hospitalized there overnight and I will pick him up at 7:30 in the morning to transport him to Dr. Bill.

I'm scared to death for him and for the other Brats. Larry is helping me disinfect the entire house with a bleach solution now and I am tossing their beds, toys, etc. If anyone has any tips for cleaning or any experience with Parvo please I would be grateful for advice.

Durango

Bear had his surgeries today and is doing well...I'll update later. Thanks -Maryann

You sure know how to pick them or them you! Awwww, I'm so sorry the little guy is sick. I hope the good doctor can make him all better and that none of the other brats gets sick. He sure is a looker. I can see why he tugged at your heart. Get well soon Baby Blue Eyes!

The HoundsInHeaven will pray that the new brat will not suffer from Parvo (Keeper was given one with parvo years before us and it really broke her heart) . . . btw, what is a power-user? Is this the same group with Learning Times? Well, if it is, my Keeper Lui is a power-user too!

Paws crossed and sibe vibes for all of the pack. Durango is a cutie and those blue eyes are to die for. We don't know much about parvo but here's a website we found. http://www.workingdogs.com/parvofaq.htm. Hope this helps! Good luck and hang in there!

You know all of us at the Zoo Crew are praying for Durango (love the name, by the way). Will be watching for updates......

Two questions: Are your dogs up to date with their shots and are they otherwise generally healthy? If the answer is yes to both, they have a lot less chances of getting it. gaia died of parvo, it's a terrible thing for an owner to face. I'm sending lots and lots and lots and lots of good vibes, I'm already in love, completely head over heels for that puppy face.

Oh Good Grief Maryann!! The poor little guy. I think you have some sort of gravitational pull that sends these guys to you.

I think one of the Barking Loud dogs had Parvo as a pup...I'll ask them to stop over with advice.

if i were you i'll take him too - look at those attentive blue eyes!

sorry to hear about the Parvovirus... i'm sure he'll be fine since it's detected early. i guess if the other brats had been vaccinated against that, there shouldn't be much prob.
be positive!

send our furry regards to Bear!

Oh no!! Our thougts and prayers are with the entire pack! We don't know much about Parvo. All we know is my cousin Dakota got it as s young pup a year ago and was too sick by the time they figured out what was wrong. Luckily my cousin Bailey didn't get it, but I couldn't play with her for a long time until Mom was sure Bailey wasn't sick, too.
I'm sending super Kaos hugs your way!!

Don't panic over your adult dogs! There is new vet thinking about many shots lasting longer than one year, so if your dogs have ever been vaccinated, they should be safe.

The puppy is adorable and we all have our paws crossed he will come through this okay.

Maryann, I sure hope this adorable little guy is okay. I don't know much about parvo. My Sophie just tested positive for Lepto, but she's an only dog, so I don't have a pack to worry about. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope for the best. I also hope Sophie's fave chocolatey doggie's toes recover well.

Parvo is pretty nasty stuff. I hope the poor wee lad pulls through.

I do know bleach is no good for parvo - you need to get a parvo specific cleaner (there is something called parvocide this side of the puddle) but contact your vets and get their advice.

And make sure your other dogs are up to date with their jabs, parvo is VERY contagious.

Hugs - thinking of you

Ooooooooooooh! What a beautiful boy! I would have fallen in love with him too. I'm sure Thrawn is up in heaven smiling.

Hey, just a thought - since he was so recently adopted, you could apply to SOS-RF for help with paying for his care.

I'll be checking back often!
