I have a special connection to Irving, a few of the rescue dogs we fostered a few years back came from there and the thought of them dying in a gas chamber just makes me ill. So if anyone is in the DFW area and thinking of adding a new member to your family please consider adopting from the City of Irving Shelter. I know it's not as nice as going to one of the higher end shelters, but the dogs there really need help. If you're on MySpace and are interested in seeing new lists of Irving dogs please visit here.
Thanks - don't worry, the dogs will be back tomorrow...Maryann :)

it's really heartbreaking to see them behind fences...
when we visited the animal shelter where Eski used to be, she and all the others looked sad but those eyes of theirs filled with that little hope that you can take them away from that loneliness...
they deserve to go to good home good owners... deserve to take a space on our bed and steal our food.
That's how I found Penny. The AC facility she came from isn't open to the public & Sue goes to there twice a week, takes pics & circulates them on local email lists. She's Penny's guardian angel & I owe the world to her.
Wonderful tribute!

Maryann,
You are so wonderful for doing this for those dogs in need. You are a friend in deed to us canines!
Love and many sugars,

That is so great.
Sam,
Your mom is a good egg. You sure did a good job rescuing her! We were in cages once. It's no place for a dog!
