Hi everyone! It's Bear and I wanted to fill you in on my project this weekend. I bet when we didn't post much you thought it was cuz we didn't do anything exciting, right? WRONG! I've become a Construction Dog!!! Cool huh? Our house is kinda old and when she bought it lots of stuff had to be done. She's slooooow though so I had to step in now that I live here too. We have two bathrooms, the one in Mom's room is reeeally tiny and the other one is huge. She says it's backwards. Well, the tiny one was seriously ugly and needed lots of help so she went and bought all kinds of things for me to fix it. She said it was a budget job, whatever that means. I guess that's why I only had two laborers under me and not a crew.
First I better show you the disaster that it was. Completely unacceptable, there wasn't even room for me to protect the shower door while Mom was in there. I'd get in and there wasn't enough room to turn around!
So the first thing I had my Laborer Larry do was to rip out everything in there, even the floor!!
In addition to being a Construction Foreman I also figured out a huge mystery of life - THIS is where everything goes!! See that hole??? I could never figure that out but now we know.
Just take my word for it, you don't want to experience this yourself. Like a million hours later the new walls were ready for inspection. (I think they work by the hour)
I sent my Chief Inspection Hound to make sure the new materials were up to code. Thankfully they all passed inspection because we were way behind schedule already.
She called me in for an internal inspection on this one because she didn't have an OSHA approved ladder to reach. After approving it I had to supervise even more - here I am waiting for the mirror to be hung and gazing at my handsome mug.
This is part of the inspection process. I had to make sure I had room to lounge and that it was comfy enough. We still have a lot of punchlist things to do - like baseboard and hiding those horrible pipes coming out of the wall. I hear Tucker is good at plumbing. Mom wants something to put towels and things in too. A dogs work is never done I guess.
My handydog website will be up soon in case you want to book me for some jobs around your house. I'm not cheap but I'm good. -Bear
PS Mom did work too, but she had to take pictures so there isn't any documentation. She made me write that.

Oh my Bear, I am totally impressed with the bathroom makeover! I think you should be on TV.. seriously! The bathroom looks SO different (and more spacious) now!
Hey Bear,
What a hardworking foredog you are! I bet your services don't come cheap. What did the rest of the pack do? I mean I only saw Sam in action.
Your new toilet looks lovely. Do you flush after using the bowl? or issit a fresh drinking water bowl?
Good job Bear! I would like to hire you and Sam for renovations in our house. Maybe in the kitchen. You could install shorter counters.

Bear, you do wonderful work. I'll hire you! Do you take The Mom's credit card?
Maryann, I LOVE that tile! That is exactly what I'm looking for for our foyer. It's the color of dirt!!! Did you do that paint joby yourself or is it paper? Hard to tell by the pics. Either way, it's awesome!
Bear did an excellent job.

Oh Bear you are good. Maybe we can hire you for the kitchen remodel my mom and dad are planning. Let us know when you get your handydog website up. Me and Missy will need it.
The bathroom came out really nice.

Bear you did an awesome job. I bet you that you will get hired a lot.
Mom wants to know if you do kitchens, too. Mom and Dad bought an old house 3 years ago and that's the room she hates because it's ugle and small and frustrates her. That bathroom looks great. Good thing you joined the pack!

Nice work Bear. What is your rate? And can you come to CA?
Lots of Licks, Ruby
Can you do a whole HOUSE, Bear? We just live in an apartment right now and I want more room and a fenced-in yard. How much would that cost me? I have... hmmm... 3 Sam's Yams left. Would that cover it?
Wow Bear... you did an excellent job on that bathroom! I am very pleased with your work and would like to hire your services around the house, ha rooo!
Hugs,
Sitka
Hi, Bear.
You are great! Look at that work!! I am sure you could find easily a job. Sure you are a good contractor! So, you only got help from Sammy Inspector?? You two deserve more treats!!
Have a nice day

Hi Bear
I need some help to do the shower in my GibFlat - so come on over - but we will have to muck in together.
Pippa
Thanks everyone!!
Jen - it's textured paper from Lowes. The walls were in really bad shape and it pretty much covered it all. I'm really happy with it. (especially for the price)
Those are vinyl 18x18 squares, it was $44 for the room. This was a major budget project, I think total for all of it was about $600. I'm cheap. ;)
Maryann
Luckie - I never get to drink out of the toilet. We're so sheltered. -Bear
Bear,
Your bathroom project looks awesome! You are very talented. Do you hire your services out?
