Tucker

It's 1 am and we just got back from the Emergency Clinic. (and I can't sleep) Something/Someone ripped Tucker's face something horrible. I can't tell if he got in a fight with one of the Brats, it really looks like he's cut it directly on something. I never heard him yell or anything, he just came up to me in the bedroom with this huge cut on his face. It's perfectly clean, straight down to the bone and his skin has a gap about 1/2" wide from one side to another. (insert the green puking smiley face here) It looks like something metal just sliced it, but more than likely somehow he got into it with one of the other dogs I guess. Thank God it missed his eye by about 2 cm. The ER cleaned it out, gave him a shot of antibiotics and pain meds. I made the choice to wait until 8 am for him to go to Dr. Bill's to be sedated and stitched or whatever they think he needs. :( I just didn't feel comfortable doing it there and they said he'd be ok until morning.

I cursed us, Dot spent the day at Dr. Bill's today (ear again) and I told him on the phone that everyone was doing great, blah blah blah. I'll post an update in the morning on him, hopefully it's not going to be anything major for him. -M

9:30 am - Tucker is at Dr. Bill's now, they're going to put him under and stitch it all up. Waiting to hear what they think could have caused it and if there's any further damage. :( Thanks for the well wishes!!!

6:20 pm - We just got home...he's doped up and still woozy. He has staples, one ickily close to his eye and they have to stay in until the 11th. Yea. 4 other dogs, him not wanting them in to begin with....I see where this is going. He's on Cephalexin and pain meds for the next week at least. They don't think it's a bite - he either was clawed by "something" outside or got his face caught on something. I'm going to scour the house and yard tonight....fun, fun. I'm just thankful his eye is ok. Thanks everyone, you guys are the absolute best!!!! Hopefully he'll just rest all night.

Oh my God! Little Tucker! He was so brave not to cry! Because I'm sure it hurt! We hope he is ok now!

Wow Maryann. I hope he's not in much pain. I know it's scary for you. I hope you're doing ok, as I know just how much you love blood. I'll call you in a.m. Well, Cricket just let out one of her sad howls that she does in her sleep. So she's feeling bad for Doodle too. She remembers when she and Sammy had a rumble with a squirrel.

Poor, poor Tucker! We hope everything will be O.K. for you. You tell your pack mates to play more gently! The kitties in your previous post are very cute. We will drop by Harley and Hagen's place and check it out. Hope you're feeling better. How's Bear doing? Belly Rubs, Tasha & Eva.

Oh no! Poor Tucker. That looks pretty painful. I hope he's doing well and he heals quickly.

Big licks (but not on the owie!)

wally.

ps. If Tucker needs a good story I have one I made up about a pack of lions carrying off a baby to eat. I haven't had the chance to use it to proclaim my heroism but...

Poor Tucker and his beautiful face! We hope that pain shot is doing it's magic for him. Dr. Bill will make him all better again but then you get to make sure the Pack doesn't lick it for him. They do love each other.

Poor Tucker...I hope he's doing better today. And Marianne, hang in there...I'm sure he'll be fine. Now you just need to do a little CSI work to figure out what happened. That and get some sleep!

That's gonna be an impressive scar. Just think of the stories you can tell the ladies. I'm glad you're gonna be OK though.

Tucker!!! What happened?! I sure hope nothing else is affected and that a few stiches will make it as good as new (along with a wicked scar!).

:-( My girl just wants to hug him and love on him and scratch his ears and give him kisses....

Oh my gosh! I hope Tucker did okay today. That is the weirdest, scariest cut. Could he have caught himself on something?

I hope you're okay Mary Ann. I honestly don't know how you do it. I freak when Sophie limps. I can't quite imagine having five beasts with issues. You are clearly a saint.

Hey,
Discovered your blog a few weeks and have been following yours and the Packs adventures with interest.

Best of luck to Tucker for a speedy and painfree recovery period (and an avoidance of a secondary problem because of an altercation with another pack member).

Best wishes to Bear in his recovery as well.
