Mom's not happy.

It's Bear here. Mom's pretty grumpy (and we're laying low) because when she got home she realized something went on during the day and now I'm a marked dog. I can't tell you exactly what happened 'cause I'm not a tattletale but now I have a special "brand" marking me as one of the Pack. You can see it here...right on my snout.I hope my Fairy-Dog-Parents are not mad, I've been playing and kissing the other Brats all night to show Mom there was no hard feelings and this was just a kinda hazing thing. See, all of the Brats have special Pack markings. Dakota had one on his face from when he and Thrawn threw down over a bone years and years ago. Thrawn has one way under his fur on his face that Dakota gave him a looooong time ago and Dot has a chunk of her forehead missing from a scuffle with Tucker a few years back. Those were too hard to take pics of, but here is Sam's mark from a fight over a bone with Dakota a couple years back. It's a little hard to see but at the top of her eye look to the right where the white starts. There's a big ole' chunk gone.

Tucker has the most impressive one though and Mom isn't sure if Dakota or Thrawn gave it to him. See that black mark about an inch or so below his eye? Cool, huh?So now I'm officially part of the pack - does this make me a Brat too? -Bear

PS from the human - Bear's fine, his nose is just a little scraped up. I'm guessing Tucker was grumpy with him during the day but they're getting along fine. Contrary to what it sounds like above they all do really get along grandly, we just have a few disagreements here and there. ;)

Uh-Ooooo...we hate when Mom's not happy!

We usually get along pretty well, but we have bad days too. None of us have any cool battle scars like you guys do though...only Mom. She got 8 stitches in her finger when she broke up one of our fights. She was REALLY not happy that day!

Hope peace has been restored to your house!

Hey Bear,

It is not good to get into fights, but if was it just a sibling thing then that's ok. I'm happy that all of you are ok now.

P.S. Do you get to stay with pack forever now that you have your new mark?

Hi Bear,
That mark must be part of your initiation into the Pack! Good on you for not telling mom who did it.. I am sure you are now part of the gang!!

Bear looks like you need to stay there now, right. So your mark could be a good thing. Glad you are ok and you are a good pack doggie not to tattle!

Lots of Licks, Ruby

PS - How is Thrawn?

Everydog is right, Bear. Now that you have the Pack mark, you are staying. We are sure your mom was just waiting to see how you would fit in. Good job showing her that you are one of the guys! We fight too but it is mostly over toys or when Sammy gets a little too close to someone else's food bowl. Mom can take our bowl and we don't growl, but Sammy wants to EAT our food.

I think it was a test, Bear. The other Brats wanted to see if you would tell on them. And since you DIDN'T, then you're on of the Pack now.

Fig bit me once. She says it was an accident, but I'm not sure because I was being pretty annoying that day. It bled a lot, but we kissed and made up.

One of the things that is so cool about dogs vs. cats (I hope mine will forgive me for saying this) is that you can much more easily bring a dog into a home with other dogs and they get along almost right off the bat. I know it doesn't ALWAYS work that way, but it seems to be much easier. One butt sniff and they are best buddies. Bear, hope your scratch didn't hurt too much. You are now an official brat pack member.

Hi Bear,
you and your pack look really cool. Do you all live together? Must be good fun... We are only two dogs here, just me and my daughter Mali.

Hey, I have a mark just like Tucker's. Jasper gave it to me for walking past his bed. I can tell because mom saw it, but you are right not to tattle.

I bet giving you "the mark" was Tucker's way of telling your Mom you have to stay with the pack now. It looks like you're fitting in very well.

That's nice that you all made up and are getting along now. It must have been pretty scary when you were fighting though.

I think you became a part of the brat pack a while ago.

Uh-oh! We get those little owies, too sometimes when we play a little too rough. Bear looks ok but I'm worried about Samantha. Tell her I'll smooch her mark to make sure it's ok.
