Here's an action goober shot for your pleasure...
Any opinions on him being mixed with something?? He has quite the jowls/neck roll thing going. I'm adding these glamour shots because Aunt Sandi thinks that's a questionable pic above.
Tucker Doodle here - she still won't let me play with him. Isn't this picture pathetic? You'd think she'd crack from the pressure. Sigh.

What's that we hear? Oh, it must be Dogmom about to crack under the pressure to let you two play ... right after she gets him back from the vet. He does look pretty big ... just be careful.

Tucker Doodle-
Hang in there boy, it won't be long and you and Bear can romp and play...
By the way, what is his the circumference of his neck??? Just wondering!
Tucker Doodle,
Next time mom opens the back door just make a mad dash out to Bear! Then you two can run and play! I know Bear needs to learn how to play, too. Maybe you can teach him how to relax and have fun! You'll be a great "foster" brother to Bear. Hey, ask your mom what the circumference of Bear's neck is??? Look giant by that tree!
That's a lot of drool I see. I'm have never seen a lab with that much around their neck before.
Oh Tucker, how can she not want to play with you? I'll play with ya any day!!
wow, did anyone actually use a measuring tape for that drool? i wanna know how long is that! LOL
wet wet licks
Boo
OK, I measured. His neck is about 25.5 inches. In comparison, Tucker is almost 15".

Ever see that movie with Tom Hanks - Turner & Hooch? LOL Slobber, drool, yuck... Keep it up Tucker & Bear. I hear your mommy melting under the pressure!
Dad says that I used to froth at the mouth at the dog park. Some of the people there told him that it was a sign of nervousness. I only really get droolsicles when there is food about somewhere (cooking, preparing, eating....). Anyjowl, I hope you solve the mystery of the great brown drool machine!
Love and Licks,
Texas (and his humans).
Aw...the chocolate guy drools. I put out massive amounts of drool 1) whenever I am in the proximity of food 2) when I'm nervous. Maybe he's just adapting to a new environment? Or maybe he's just a drooly guy (like a Newf or mastiff?)
I hope everything checks out at the vet. He's a handsome guy and it's great of you guys to take him in.
wally.
Bandit is all but a pure bred lab (his momma was pure, she was bred with a pure male and liked it so much she got some from the neighbor dog too!) and he drools and foams just like that when he's begging, excited, nervous......
now, as a Husky, I don't drool like that. I find it, well, yucky.
His record is a drooler just under six inches long.... yuck
Yup, that's totally normal. Watch out for the headshake, it's a killer.
Labs were originally part of the Newfoundland dog breed - they were called Greater St. John's Dogs and Lesser St. John's Dogs - the Newfs were the greater and the Labs were the lesser. So certain resemblances (ie drool) are inevitable.
How could he resist playing with you when you give him a look like that through the door? He must just not know what a good dog you are!
Kat
Hmmmm, drool, large neck, jowls, neck roll, sounds awfully houndy to me...
Oh Tucker... that's the saddest picture ever. You and Chocolate Dog will have lots of playing to catch up on when you can finally get to him! Better be nice though - he could squish you with his neck roll!
Is he a Newf mix? He looks about big enough...!
Hmmm...Newf mix.. that could be! That would explain the drool.. and yes that is normal.
You should see my bullmastiff house.. I have drool on the celing!
Oh tucker you poor thing.(This is Flash here by the way) Once you get to play though watch out for all that drool because it's going to get all on you. Peanut drools on me all the time and it can get yucky.
don't worry,
my lab mix bodhi drools too.
long ones.
:)
